The free bedframe I got matches the dresser so precisely that there is no other explanation.
::Sigh::…yesterday I had all this energy for moving, but today…there is none. By the way, I am moving. Not very far (about a 5 minute drive). So far, I am happy. Except now I am too lazy and energyless. Also: why does no one carry drawer liners? What is with that? The closest I’ve found has been contact paper. No, I don’t want to ruin by drawers by gluing paper to them, thanks. I simply want to line them with scented paper, purchased for that purpose. Is that so strange? Is that not something people do? I ended up buying wrapping paper and using that. Er…meaning, I bought the wrapping paper yesterday when I had the energy, and everything was moving. And, um. Now it’s sitting with all my clothes, asking me why I didn’t do it last night when I couldn’t sleep anyway and had the energy, but I couldn’t find a pair of scissors…

I’ll take full responsibility for your addiction to scented drawer liner paper. Such a luxury! It makes folding and stacking clothes neatly so rewarding…lavender, lilac, jasmine, freesia, rose…a throwback, I supose, to the 50’s, when homemakers took on the role with great pride and skill, making the home so lovely, so comfy, so inviting. Sad that many of the delicious details of those days seem lost , met with disdain. Stiching sachets, darning socks, polishing shoes, folding napkins and handkerchiefs with flair, airing pillows, waxing floors, beating carpets (might have kept violence in the home down!). Slippers, and a cocktail extended to the breadwinner as he arrives home, wife’s hair permed and styled, nails done, seamed stockings, cinch waisted dress with crinoline petticoats, and pumps. Children freshly scrubbed, and polite.
But drawer liners…ah such bliss! That, and freshly ironed cotton sheets, sprayed with lavender or rosewater! Another fairy tale. I wish I had a 50’s wife (and kept my husband, too!) I’m sooooo glad I am a post women’s lib child! Boy, did men have it good. They must be pissed when they see those old 50’s sitcoms!
Don’t despair, drawer liner paper can often be found at Christmas. Shall I look our for some, or are you happy with the wrapping paper?
Love you, miss you,
Mom
